Claire Hunter
Claire Hunter, Manager of Abbeyfield House, Redland
Claire started working for Abbeyfield Bristol and Keynsham in November 2016 at Kift Lodge in Hanham, working in both night support & day support roles for almost 9 years. “I loved being able to support the residents – working nights meant I was often their listening ear or reassurance when the residents needed it the most,” she says, “Kift Lodge was like one big extended family.”
In August 2025, Claire was proud to step into the role of House Manager at Abbeyfield House Redland, where she now supports the residents and staff to create a positive living environment for those in later life. Being a manager has given Claire the opportunity to help shape the atmosphere of the house, bringing people together, and building that strong sense of community that makes Abbeyfield so special.
And what does Claire enjoy most about her new role; “I love getting to know each of the residents individually, hearing their stories and ensuring the residents feel safe valued and at home.”
Set in the heart of Bristol’s leafy Redland, and close to local amenities, Abbeyfield House Redland offers stunning independent living for adults in later life.
