In the spirit of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, the theme for this year’s Keynsham In Bloom trail is FIT FOR A QUEEN. At Abbeyfield House in Keynsham, staff and volunteers have been working hard to design and create a fabulous royal carriage. It’s all coming together and we can’t wait to welcome visitors to our summer garden this year 👑

Huge thanks to our newest volunteer Helen, who has been getting stuck into some outdoor jobs for us this weekend. 😅 Actually, Helen wasn’t given much choice….. As the sister of house manager, Charlene, she was handed a hose pipe and set to work immediately when she came for a family visit!

This weekend we enjoyed two VERY important birthdays at Abbeyfield House in Keynsham. Not only did resident Margo celebrate her 89th birthday but it was also Joyce’s 90th.

When it’s a birthday, our lovely residents tell us how they want to celebrate, and choose what they want to do and eat, On Saturday, the birthday tea consisted of prawn cocktail, a variety of sandwiches, sausage rolls, chicken bites, strawberries & cream AND a lemon sponge birthday cake 🎂

That’s what we call a party!! 😉
