Each year, residents and team members from Abbeyfield House in Redland enjoy the most fantastic afternoon at the home of Val Brooks who has headed up the house’s volunteer Friends committee for many years. This week saw the last of these wonderful events as Val has decided to retire. We can’t stress how much we’ve appreciated the friendship and support of Val and her fellow volunteers over the years.
Our Chief Executive, Frances Stretton, enjoyed the tea party this week and is sad to see Val go, “Abbeyfield Bristol and Keynsham Society is so very grateful for the brilliant contribution which Val and her husband, Michael, have made to us over more than 50 years – a fantastic and hugely appreciated commitment indeed! As a volunteer, Val’s warmth, enthusiasm, tireless energy and wonderful friendship with our residents will be very much missed, and we’re indebted to her.
