This week, we’ve said a big “thank you” to someone very special. Cook Sue Evans retired
from her job at our Keynsham retirement house where she has worked for the past 33 years.
Team members, volunteers, friends of the house and residents came together yesterday to enjoy a fabulous cream tea and celebrate Sue’s wonderful career. Charlene Fleck, house manager, said “It’s an amazing feat to stay in a role for 33 years and Sue has been such an integral part of the house as it has evolved over the years. Not only is she a fantastic cook, but she is a true friend to us all. We wish her every happiness in her retirement and are just delighted that she’s promised to be a regular visitor”.
One of the guests at the party was Jean Ewins. Now a resident herself at the house, Jean actually interviewed Sue for the position of Cook all those years ago. “In those days, I was part of a volunteer committee that ran the house. I can still remember interviewing Sue in the garden and I’m just glad that I’ve been able to enjoy her delicious meals as a resident”.
Wishing you all our love and best wishes for your retirement Sue xx
