Volunteers make a crucial contribution to life in Abbeyfield – to us, they’re the lifeblood of our houses. We’re currently looking for volunteers with a little bit of time, and lots of enthusiasm and energy to join our committees of passionate, and dedicated volunteers.
“Volunteering really has really given me a new lease of life, now that my children have all left home. We have a lot of fun. I only wish I’d contacted Abbeyfield sooner.” Anne
If you’re aged 16 or over, enthusiastic, with a keen interest in working with older people and with a strong desire to give something back to your community, please do call us on 0117 973 6997.
Volunteers accompany residents on trips and appointments; you might be asked to help read through a letter; or, sometimes, it’s as simple as taking a few minutes to sit and chat over a cup of tea and a piece of cake.
If you can give some time, it will be pivotal in the happiness of an older person. Volunteering is a hugely rewarding and enjoyable experience, and your support really will make a big difference.
“It’s lovely to spend time with older people! They have fascinating stories to tell and tell me that having a young person in the house gives them a fresh perspective too. It’s a win-win situation.” Oliver
We’d love to hear from you, so call us today on 0117 973 6997 to take your next step to becoming an Abbeyfield volunteer.
Thank you.
