WINNERS Of Nationwide Competition!
We are EXCITED AND DELIGHTED to let you know that our fabulous Abbeyfield House in Keynsham was announced the WINNER

of The Abbeyfield Society’s nationwide competition to celebrate National Gingerbread House Day on 12 December.
Staff from our assisted living house in Keynsham worked so hard to design and create this fabulous gingerbread house.  The gingerbread was made in the house kitchen by our wonderful cook, Connie, and then Sarah patiently put it all together.  Out of the 50 entries, we are told our creation “blew away the judges” and “truly encapsulated the spirit of Abbeyfield”.
The lights are on in our gingerbread house and there’s always someone home! Our gingerbread house is colourful, friendly, sociable, warm and inviting, just like our very own Abbeyfield House. We also made sure to include our residents in our design by placing 12 gingerbread people at the front of the house. As always, they’re having a great time in the garden, catching up over a cup of tea”.
“I’m so proud of both our home and our gingerbread house! It was a fantastic team effort”, says house manager Charlene Fleck.
Huge congratulations to cook Connie, who made the gingerbread herself in the house kitchen, and cook Sarah, who patiently put everything together.  Can you spot our residents in the garden, represented by gorgeous gingerbread people?
Watch out for photos from our entries in a new Facebook album.  What we want to know now is … who’s eaten all of the gingerbread? 🙋‍♂️
