Frances joined Abbeyfield Bristol & Keynsham Society in 2011 with an entrepreneurial background in arts, media and theatre. As our chief executive she is now responsible for the day to day running of the Society and, ultimately for ensuring that residents’ needs are met, and expectations exceeded. Frances particularly enjoys getting to know new residents; and hearing about their lives. Favourite hobbies are baking bread and cakes. “If I could invite anyone to dinner at one of our houses, it’d be Dame Judi Dench and Sir David Attenborough. I think they are hugely inspiring and haven’t let age slow them down at all.”
Hannah keeps the wheels spinning here in our office. Having worked as Day Manager in our Abbeyfield House in Henleaze, and now as the manager of our head office since 2015, no one knows more about Abbeyfield’s ‘ins and outs’. Hannah particularly enjoys helping people with the process of decision-making, and answering queries. She especially loves seeing new residents happily settled in their new homes. “I’d like to invite Stephen Fry to dinner in an Abbeyfield House. His dry wit and funny commentary would definitely entertain us. Oh, and Poldark .. Well, because he’s gorgeous.”
With a background in business, and TV and film accounts, Steph joined us in 2016 to help manage the books and payroll for Bristol & Keynsham. Steph is your ‘go-to’ for any financial information; advice about benefits; and pension credits that you might want to use towards renting your Abbeyfield apartment. She can also help with advice about our bursary. When not at work, Steph loves spending time with her horses. “I always wanted to be a jockey but it didn’t quite happen. The biscuits in the office don’t help!”.
Lynn joined us in March 2016 following 2 years of retirement. She has a background is in nursing and, following her BSc (Hons) degree, she worked as Clinical Manager in a GP surgery. As the Administration & Accounts Assistant, Lynn assists Frances and Hannah with residents and staff administration, and assists Steph with the accounts. What does she do in her spare time? “Well, I keep fit by running around after my grandson and 2 springer spaniels!”
