1. CASUAL NIGHT SUPPORT WORKER
We are looking for friendly, caring, reliable night support for our fabulous house in Redland. You’ll be a crucial member of the team, helping our residents (up to 17 in Redland) to live fulfilling and independent lives.
As Night Support Manager, you will sleep at the house in the relief room (with en-suite bathroom) to provide holidays or sickness cover.
Duties of this role include:
1.To keep a caring and supportive eye on residents, liaising as appropriate with:
- Domiciliary care services
- Primary health care professionals
- Registered Residential Care or Nursing Homes
- The voluntary House Committee
2 He/she will have responsibility when on duty for:
- Health, safety and food hygiene matters
- Fire prevention/precaution
- Maintaining all necessary paperwork (eg Accident book/residents’ Day Book)
- Liaising with the General Manager and Catering staff.
3 To assist in supervision of residents’ medication provided a monitored dosage system is used
4 Dealing with any resident emergencies whilst on duty, ensuring appropriate liaison with other members of staff, the House Committee and the Abbeyfield office
5 To assist in serving of high tea/supper, eating with the residents.
6 Such other duties as the General Manager, House Committee or the Society’s Chief Executive shall decide.
7 To act in the best interests of Abbeyfield at all times.
8 To cover in other Abbeyfield houses when required

2. CASUAL CHEF VACANCIES ACROSS OUR HOUSES
If you are a chef with professional training or experience under your belt, and hold a food hygiene qualification, why not consider coming to work with us? We’re looking for chefs with flair and a passion for their craft, to join our friendly, caring teams.
As a casual team member, you’ll cover staff sickness and holidays as arranged with our house managers. Principal duties will include preparing menus and ensuring budgetary control; preparing and cooking meals for residents; and undertaking other catering duties. What’s more, we guarantee plenty of variety, as you’ll enjoy working across all of our 5 Bristol houses.
